Hiking Tours & Shuttle Service

The Escalante River originates in the mountains north of town and flows southeast through an extraordinarily pristine and beautiful desert canyon landscape. The maze of canyons created by the river and its many tributaries present some great remote hiking opportunities. There are some day hikes available, but most hikers here backpack. Boulder Mountain / Aquarius Plateau, a highland of nicely forested peaks north of Escalante, also offers some hiking opportunities.
