Description
After a night under the stars, you'll awaken to the shout of "coffee," signaling time for a hearty breakfast and the start of a great day of rafting. There also will be a great hike to Fremont petroglyphs or other historic sites. Rapids develop after lunch, to be challenged in oar-powered rafts , as well as inflatable kayaks.
Day three brings on rougher water and short hikes to old homesteads and ranches. Steer Ridge and Three Fords rapids, among the biggest on the Green, are encountered in the afternoon and mark the separation of Desolation and Gray Canyons, traversing 40 million years of geologic history in the process.
Day four brings on several rapids and stretches of calm water for swim breaks and water fights. Later in the season, the trip extends into a fifth day as the water slows its pace.
