Description
Rock Cliff Recreation Area and Nature Center, located on the east shore of Jordanelle Reservoir, is a unique getaway. The focus of this recreation site is to preserve and protect the scenic corridor along the Provo River with as little alteration and negative impact as possible. Toward this end, fishing along this section of the river is limited to artificial flies and lures only and camping is on a walk-in basis. Rock Cliff has maintained a peaceful, natural setting where wildlife is plentiful and solitude is easy to find.
The Nature Center houses exhibits and interactive displays that explain the surrounding wetland and riparian habitats. State park personnel offer environmental programs and provide information about recreation at Jordanelle State Park. A series of elevated boardwalk trails travel from the Nature Center, under a canopy of cottonwoods, into the natural surroundings of the Provo River where interpretive signs explain the river's complex ecology.
Visit Rock Cliff for an afternoon or a weekend of camping in the shade near the peaceful sounds of the stream.
