The San Juan River cuts through beautiful canyon country west of Bluff on its way to Lake Powell. It offers some pleasant opportunities for rafting and canoeing, although it may be most beloved among fishermen. The wide, gentle waters of the river are prime for trout and a great deal of trout at that. Along the river are some superb Indian pictographs and Anasazi ruins.
