Climate
Like most destinations in southern Utah, Capitol Reef is best visited in spring or fall when temperatures are moderate and the number of visitors fewer. Summers are hot, but not unbearable, and see the most visitors. Winters are cold and the park is pretty much deserted. The park doesn't get much precipitation, but the wettest months are July and August with about an inch of rain each. Average daily highs and lows are set out below.
