Scenic drives to consider in the Uinta Mountains area are listed below. Click on any scenic byway or backway listed below for complete information.

Broadhead Meadow Road 4 1/2 miles 1 hour

Flaming Gorge Scenic Byway 40 miles oneway 2 - 3 hours
Flaming Gorge Scenic Byway (Hwy. 44) starts at Hwy. 191 south of the gorge and runs 28 miles around the southwestern corner of Flaming Gorge to the town of Manilla. Most of the route is through attractive pine and aspen forests and open meadows away from the gorge, but there are some great views of Sheep Creek Bay and other parts of the gorge.

Flaming Gorge-Uintas Scenic Byway 82 miles (132 km) Two hours (including backtracking on Highway 44) to drive or a day to enjoy the Byway.
As one of the most aptly named landscapes in the country, Flaming Gorge provides vast scenic vistas that you won't be able to fit into your camera! These views may only live in your memory. Drive this scenic Byway and watch Flaming Gorge and the Uintas unfold from several different perspectives.

Mirror Lake Scenic Byway 65 miles oneway 2 hours
Mirror Lake Scenic Byway runs through the western side of the Uintas from Kamas to the Utah/Wyoming border. It winds through beautiful alpine mountain scenery along rivers and past numerous lakes.

Mirror Lake Scenic Byway - UT Section 65 miles (104 km) 2 or 3 hours to drive.

North Slope Road 76 mile roundtrip 5 hours
The North Slope Road is a beautiful drive along the northern edge of the Uinta Mountains. The greens of the forest and meadows and the blues of the sky are vibrant here, and the occasional views of majestic peaks framed by the forest are very satisfying.

Sheep Creek/Spirit Lake Loop 48 mile partial loop 2-3 hours
The Sheep Creek Loop runs through the sheer, rugged canyon walls of Sheep Creek Canyon with dramatic views of the Uinta Fault. Spirit Lake Road is a spur road from the Sheep Creek Loop that leads through beautiful pine and aspen forests to pretty Spirit Lake high in the Uinta Mountains.
