Cedar City Population: 19,000
Cedar City is a mid-size city along I-15 just east of the Markagunt Plateau. It serves as a base for those exploring the plateau and as a more distant base for those visiting Bryce Canyon and Zion national parks. In late summer the city hosts a very popular Shakespeare Festival.

Provo Population: 275,000 (Metro Area)
Provo is Utah's third largest city. It is a clean, pleasant city situated between the Wasatch Mountains and Utah Lake. It is home to Brigham Young University, the largest church affiliated university in the country. The mountains surrounding Provo provide good hiking, mountain biking and fishing opportunities among beautiful alpine scenery. Also nearby are Timpanogos Cave National Monument and pretty Sundance Ski Resort.

Tushar Mountains
The Tushar Mountains are a pretty range with a good network of hiking and biking trails, campgrounds and small lakes. Though the Tushars exceed the height of the Wasatch Mountains in Northern Utah, they remain under appreciated and relatively uncrowded. Adjacent to the range along I-15 is the pleasant little town of Beaver.
