La Sal Mountains - Hiking

Adventure in Moab Utah

There is a network of 18 trails totaling some 65 miles in the La Sal Mountains. Most are well marked and many pass through pretty forests and near mountain lakes. For more details, please contact the La Sal-Manti National Forest at 435-259-7155.

Mount Tukuhnikivatz		Intermediate	4.8 miles (round trip)	4 1/2 hours

	Anyone who has visited Canyonlands or Arches National Parks in the early summer has probably gazed admiringly at the snow capped peaks of the La Sal Mountains. The sight of snow seems oddly out of place in the midst of the desert heat, but snow is usually visible on the higher summits of the La Sals well into July.
